Les Intouchables (2011) is a film based on a true story that focuses on an unlikely relationship between a wealthy quadriplegic, Philippe, who became immobile after a paragliding accident and his caretaker, Driss, who has just been released from prison. Although this synopsis might make you think this is a sad and serious film, it's actually one of the funniest movies I've ever watched. I love this film because it highlights a universal human desire for connection; everyone can find something to connect with in the film! Most importantly, Les Intouchables allows viewers to see themselves and the world around them in a way they have never seen them before as Philippe and Driss' relationship develops and blossoms.
